      Overview - Our Services

1. Biopsy - Pathology Service

While pathologists do not treat patients directly, they play a critical role in accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment of diseases. In order to determine the presence or extent of a disease, your doctor would perform a biopsy. A biopsy is a medical procedure involving the removal of small samples of tissue or cells for examination. The pathologists then examine these samples under microscopes to provide an accurate diagnosis.

Our team consists of highly experienced pathologists with broad expertise and particular specialization in oncologic pathology and cytopathology. We offer fast and reliable service with turnaround time of 24-48 working hours, upon receiving the sample in our laboratory, for most biopsies.

2. Second Opinion of Diagnosis

When people receive diagnosis from their doctors, it's not uncommon to get a second opinion. An accurate diagnosis is essential; it will ensure the most effective course of treatment. Doctors frequently recommend a second opinion of diagnosis, if only to confirm their recommended course of action.  Our highly experienced pathologists are ready to help.

3. OralAdvance™ - Early detection of Oral Cancer

OralAdvance™ is an innovated test for assessment of suspicious lesions in the mouth. If your dentist discovered a lesion that needs further investigation, he or she would use the OralAdvance™ brush to collect cells from this spot and then send the sample to PMI Labs for analysis. OralAdvance™ uses Health Canada approved technology to measure DNA content of thousands of cell nuclei in order to detect DNA abnormality which indicates pre-cancerous or cancerous condition.
